TELANGANA CHICKEN | ANDRA STYLE | CHICKEN RECIPES

Curries and Gravies have always been a popular dish globally and this mouth-watering Andhra gravy has been carved out of the 29th state of India, Telangana. The state is known for its spicy dishes and so is this chicken gravy! Prepared with aromatic ground Indian spices, it is a delight for your taste buds and can be enjoyed best with basmati rice or chapati. Telangana cuisine is famous for its tangy and delectable dishes and has a vast variety of recipes. Telangana Chicken is a chicken gravy cooked with curry leaves, coconut and black peppercorn. INGREDIENTS:

FOR PREPARATION

Chicken - 350 gms

Oil - 2 Tbsp

Curry Leaves

Onion - 2 Nos (Thinly Sliced)

Ginger Garlic Paste - 2 Tsp

Turmeric Powder - 1/2 Tsp

Salt - 1 Tsp

Water - 1/2 Cup

Garam Masala - 1 Tsp

Coriander Leaves


To Make Masala Powder

Coriander Seeds - 1 1/2 Tbsp

Poppy Seeds - 1 Tsp

Cumin Seeds - 1 Tsp

Peppercorn - 2 Tsp

Red Chili - 10 Nos

Grated Coconut - 2 Tbsp


PROCEDURE:

  1. Dry roast coconut, red chilies, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, peppercorns and poppy seeds and grind to a powder and keep it aside

  2. Heat oil, crackle curry leaves

  3. Add onions, and brown them

  4. Add ginger-garlic paste and turmeric powder and saute for a minute

  5. Add chicken and add some water and cook the chicken

  6. Add the powder to the chicken and cook in its own juices

  7. Finally, mix in garam masala and chopped coriander leaves

  8. Check the seasoning and serve hot
