South Indian Chicken Chops is a delicious, aromatic, hot & spicy side dish to serve with rice or chapati. This Chicken Chops recipe is super quick to make as it needs no elaborate cooking and is made with simple and basic ingredients.


South Indian cuisine is diverse and each region has their own way of making this dish. The recipe shared here has always been a winner at home for the unique aroma and taste.

The key to this delicious aromatic dish is the freshly Mint and Coriander leaves which brings a unique aroma and taste to the dish. Chicken Chops is unique in a way from the other INDIAN CHICKEN CURRY RECIPES.


Chicken chop recipe is made with pieces of chicken, fresh herbs and spices; It is a healthy chicken recipe to make. Chicken Chops is a delicious side dish goes well with chapati and rice varieties. It tastes spicy and garlicky, but at the same time, it is not loaded with strong spices like garam masala, coriander powder, and cumin. This recipe will give a moderately hot & spicy dish. To make it more spicy add more green chillies. Lets jump to check out the ingredients.














INGREDIENTS:

To grind:

Garlic: 15-20 pods

Ginger: 2 ½ inch

Green chilly: 8-10 nos

Onion: ½ cup

Coriander leaves: ½ cup

Mint: ¾ cup

Cinnamon: 2 inch

Cloves: 8 nos

Pepper corns: 1 tsp

Coriander powder: 2 tsp

Grated coconut: 2-3 tbsp


To cook:

Chicken – 3/4 Kg Chops piece or regular cut

Onion: 1 cup (chopped)

Tomato: ½ cup(chopped)

Lemon: ½ lemon

Oil: 3 tbsp

Salt: to taste


PROCEDURE:

· Grind all the ingredients under ‘TO GRIND’ section with a little water to a smooth paste

· In a cooking pan, add oil. Once the oil is heated, add onions and fry till transparent.

· Then add tomatoes and fry until mashy

· Add the chicken pieces and salt. Fry till all the water is evoparated.

· Add the ground paste and give it a good mix.

· Allow the chicken to cook thoroughly in the ground paste.

· Once the chicken is cooked, add the lemon juice and give a mix. Switch off the stove as soon as mixing the lemon juice.

· Serve the delicious Chicken Chops with roti, chapathi or Rice.
